13And his offering was one silver platter, the weight of which was 130 shekels, one silver basin of seventy shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mixed with oil for a cereal offering;

God values our giving.

89And when Moses went into the Tent of Meeting to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was upon the ark of the Testimony from between the two cherubim; and He spoke to [Moses].

Moses spoke to God, and heard His voice from the place of mercy.

    3It seemed good and desirable to me, [and so I have determined] also after [f]having searched out diligently and followed all things closely and traced accurately the course from the highest to the minutest detail from the very first, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus

Accurate history.

15For he will be great and distinguished in the sight of the Lord. And he must drink no wine nor strong drink, and he will be filled with and controlled by the Holy Spirit even [l]in and from his mother's womb.

What do I want to be filled with?

  20Now behold, you will be and [o]will continue to be silent and not able to speak till the day when these things take place, because you have not believed what I told you; but my words are [p]of a kind which will be fulfilled in the appointed and proper time.

Faith leads to speech; doubt should better remain silent, or it will never see good fruit.

    37For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.

Confidence in His word!

Maturity is mandatory.

  24The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
    25The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
    26The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).

When we perceive His face, His countenance, with our hearts, we receive the abundant life: grace, peace, and truth (enlightenment).

God decides our position, and we are to humbly delight in the responsibilities of that place.

    33But the Levites were not numbered with the Israelites, for so the Lord commanded Moses.

When we enter the priesthood of Jesus Christ, we cease to be "numbered" with everyone else because we are caught up in Him, the number one Son.

33 Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.

We are to be watching in the Spirit, looking for His intervention in our days and our moments.

38 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

An observant lifestyle can prevent us stumbling into sin.

39 Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words.

If you still feel the burden, don't stop crying to God.

   6I will give peace in the land; you shall lie down and none shall fill you with dread or make you afraid; and I will clear ferocious (wild) beasts out of the land, and no sword shall go through your land.
    7And you shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.

There is no authority over the enemy without being in right covenant with God. Being in right covenant does not consist of merely having the covenant, but in abiding by its terms:  7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will[b] ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. (John 15)

    9For I will be leaning toward you with favor and regard for you, rendering you fruitful, multiplying you, and establishing and ratifying My covenant with you.(A)

    12And I will walk in and with and among you and will be your God, and you shall be My people.

Some churches focus on getting people in and hoping God shows up. The pattern here is to get God in, and then the people will show up (He will multiply, when we obey).

2Command the Israelites that they bring to you pure oil from beaten olives for the light [of the golden lampstand] to cause a lamp to burn continually.

Crushed olives release the oil that gives light to this world: people will watch you when your life is on fire!

14Bring him who has cursed out of the camp, and let all who heard him lay their hands upon his head; then let all the congregation stone him.

If you are a witness to sin, you are responsible for responding appropriately; you cannot be neutral.

23The land shall not be sold into perpetual ownership, for the land is Mine; you are [only] strangers and temporary residents with Me.(C)

Profound implications for this nation's idolatrous obssession with propety.

All.

34 Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." But after that no one dared question Him.

Not far is far enough; knowledge that doesn't yield experience is no use in the Kingdom of God.

He has shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people,

Independant, selfish worship is demonic.

27 (for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you, and thus the land is defiled), 28 lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you.

Sin curses the land.

 1 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2 "Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say to them: 'You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.

Be Holy, because its possible, because God is with you, and He is Holy.

    39But Jesus said, Do not restrain or hinder or forbid him; for no one who does a mighty work in My name will soon afterward be able to speak evil of Me.

Miracles can help you stay focused on Jesus!

    41For I tell you truly, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to and bear the name of Christ will by no means fail to get his reward.

Is this talking about a temporal reward only, or suggesting that to acknowledge the Christ as Lord in even this simple way demonstrates faith enough to make it?

29Jesus said, Truly I tell you, there is no one who has given up and left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for My sake and for the Gospel's
    30Who will not receive a hundred times as much now in this time--houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions--and in the age to come, eternal life.

With persecutions. Hmm. So sowing and reaping isn't that straightforward then!

    34And they will mock Him and spit on Him, and whip Him and put Him to death; but after three days He will rise again [[at]from death].

He knew all of that, and chose to go into it for me.

    22The goat shall bear upon himself all their iniquities, carrying them to a land cut off (a land of forgetfulness and separation, not inhabited)! And the man leading it shall let the goat go in the wilderness.

   11But [as for you] you say, A man is exempt if he tells [his] father or [his] mother, What you would otherwise have gained from me [everything I have that would have been of use to you] is Corban, that is, is a gift [already given as an offering to God],
    12Then you no longer are permitting him to do anything for [his] father or mother [but are letting him off from helping them].

Does church business keep me from serving my family?

    18And He said to them, Then are you also unintelligent and dull and without understanding? Do you not discern and see that whatever goes into a man from the outside cannot make him unhallowed or unclean,
    19Since it does not reach and enter his heart but [only his] digestive tract, and so passes on [into the place designed to receive waste]? Thus He was making and declaring all foods [ceremonially] clean [that is, [h]abolishing the ceremonial distinctions of the Levitical Law].

This encourages me that I can sustain a fasted lifestyle (yielded, surrendered) whilst maintaining a healthy diet.

    21And He [r]kept repeating, Do you not yet understand?

I know this is the Amplified version, but I like the idea that Jesus asks the question until we get the answer: He never gives up on us.

35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it.

We are to die to a fulfilled and happy life, and as we do we discover the Christian lifestyle of sacrifice and service eminently joyful and rewarding: truly it it is life in all its abundance!

It has to be seen by the people that we the ministers of God are deliberately yielded to His will, not just making our own plans.

  9Do not drink wine or strong drink, you or your sons, when you go into the Tent of Meeting, lest you die; it shall be a statute forever in all your generations.
    10You shall make a distinction and recognize a difference between the holy and the common or unholy, and between the unclean and the clean;

I want to live in His presence: I have continual access to the Most Holy Place by the shed blood of the Lamb, so should I ever compromise my judgement?

Have we lost the sense of the command of God?

30And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold and wrote upon it an inscription, like the engravings of a signet, HOLY TO THE LORD.

Do we realise whose name we wear as we make our careless choices?

32When they went into the Tent of Meeting or came near the altar, they washed, as the Lord commanded Moses.

Preparation. Do we prepare for prayer? Do we recognise how fully we have been prepared; dressed and washed for prayer by Him who made us holy?

Matthew 28

19 Go therefore[c] and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

It is important to receive the full ministry of the Trinity in our lives: the love of the Father, the forgiveness of the Son, the power of the Spirit.
------------------

Exodus 30-33

15 The rich shall not give more and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when you give an offering to the LORD, to make atonement for yourselves.

The price of forgiveness is the same for everyone.

25 Now when Moses saw that the people were unrestrained (for Aaron had not restrained them, to their shame among their enemies),

Fathers shepherd their kids in the way they should go. They give direction and are not easily led by popular choice.

18 And he said, "Please, show me Your glory."
19 Then He said, "I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."

The glory of God is His goodness.

Matthew 23

34 Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city

God sends scribes. Jesus ordains writers for Kingdom missions.
------------------

Exodus 17-19

15 And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-LORD-Is-My-Banner;

The Banner declares identity, and in that identity is the intended victory.

11 Now I know that the LORD is greater than all the gods; for in the very thing in which they behaved proudly, He was above them.

C'mon! Egypt displayed its ability to curse and threaten, but the bully got his comeuppance!

Matthew 13-14

19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside.

Its really important to connect with the people using relevant examples so they can understand the gospel appeal.

22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

A God given vision will be provided for; but provision without vision leads to dissipation.

10 So he sent and had John beheaded in prison.

If we call sinners to repentance, we will definitely experience some level of attack.

36 and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well.

Just the peripheries of His presence brings healing. How deep can we really go in encountering God now?
------------------

Genesis 46-50

8 " Judah, you are he whom your brothers shall praise;
      Your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies;
      Your father's children shall bow down before you.

Joseph dreamt his brothers would bow before him, and they did. Judah was blessed to know his brothers would bow before him. God raises up one and puts down another. Promotion comes from the Lord.
